Measuring specialist, Wenzel Group has acquired Xspect Solutions, Inc of Wixom, Michigan, USA. Xspect Solutions has been the exclusive distributor of Wenzel coordinate measuring machines in North America since its establishment in 2002.

Xspect achieved annual sales exceeding 15 million US dollars in 2006. “The acquisition of Xspect is an important milestone for Wenzel's growth strategy and is a clear commitment to global expansion” comments Dr. Heike Wenzel-Däfler, managing director of the Wenzel Group.

The imminent construction of a new assembly plant in Wixom is one of the next steps by Wenzel in the USA.

l Wenzel also recently celebrated the production of its 5,000th coordinate measuring machine, which was delivered to manometer and thermometer manufacturer Kujawska Fabryka Manometrow “KFM” S.A. in Wloclawek, Poland.
