Rolls -Royce and Airbus go for competitive advantage with quality IT & MES systems
Learn about how Rolls-Royce Aerospace  have become the  leading global exponent of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)  and IT Systems for competitive advantage at the QMT sponsored  Open Technology Forum on 29 September.

Being held in the upcoming AeroEngineering 2010 event, which runs 29-30th September at the NEC, the Open Technology Forum has speakers from R-R plc and includes case studies from Airbus.

Chris Biddle, Manufacturing Systems Executive at Rolls-Royce will outline the company's  program to transform Rolls-Royce's aero engine manufacturing and assembly operations. A myriad of shop floor IT systems are currently operated at Rolls-Royce. These are about to be replaced by a world class Manufacturing Execution System.  Co-presenter will be Mike James  who is a member of the Rolls-Royce MES Steering Committee and Group Managing Director at ATS International, a global independent solution provider responsible for the shop floor system implementation at R-R.

Also presenting at the QMT Open Technology Forum will be Reg Marsden, Company Chief Metrologist of Rolls Royce plc.  Reg  will outline R-R’s progress and future plans for standardisation on   gauge tracking and inventory software. Reg Marsden will also  look at how standardisation of equipment and careful calibration schedules will deliver significant cost savings and other benefits to R-R.

The final speaker at the QMT open Technology Forum is Ben Alister of InfoDream who will present on the   impact of SPC and Data Collection on manufacturing at Airbus. Readers of QMT can attend for free by pre-registering at:
