3D printer adds scanning service
3D printing specialist Materialise has expanded its design and engineering services to include contract scanning and measurement

This new service allows it to now offer a complete solution for the design and realisation of high-quality, 3D printed parts.  With its huge degree of design freedom, 3D Printing has introduced a new way of thinking about design. Materialise’s team of creative engineers are experts in working with customers to build designs specifically for 3D Printing. With the addition of a scanning and measurement Service, the team is able to offer additional possibilities for quality control, reverse engineering and scan for 3D Printing.

In this way, the service completes a comprehensive approach on design for the additive manufacturing of end parts and allows for the integration of full dimensional quality control and inspection into the company’s rapid prototyping services.

By integrating in-house scanning and measurement, Materialise’s design and engineering service now offers a full solution for those looking to take full advantage of the benefits offered by 3D Printing.
Jurgen Laudus, director of additive manufacturing solutions at Materialise said: “Materialise is committed to providing its customers with high-quality, 3D printed products. The scanning and measurement service is a result of our continued efforts to provide expertise at every step of the design process and help our customers realize the full added-value offered by 3D printing.
“Combined with our expertise in software, design, and engineering, this new service helps us truly become the innovators our customers can count on to push the boundaries of 3D printing technologies.”
