NPL selects the API T3 Laser Tracker

After an exhaustive evaluation of available laser trackers, NPL has purchased the T3 Laser Tracker from Automated Precision Inc (API) for their new large scale metrology laboratory and external measurement and advisory service.

The selectionapi criteria included, testing for the highest accuracy using advanced testing methods, portability, flexible accessories and software function, all of which were key factors in the final decision. Based in their new laboratories in London, NPL will use the T3 tracker for research and development; for the advancement of large scale measurement; for the improvement of tracker calibration methods and for new applications such as machine and robot calibration.NPL is the UK’s national measurement institute and is internationally recognized for their dedication to excellence in measurement standards, science and technology.  .

API was founded in 1987 by the inventor of the laser tracker, Dr. Kam Lau and develops, produces and drives world-wide metrology products such as Laser Trackers and Laser Interferometers.
