World Measurement Day
On Thursday 20 May 2010, World Measurement Day, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) in Teddington, London,  will be holding an open day for the first time in over twenty years.

As the UK's National Measurement Institute, NPL develops and maintains the nation's primary measurement standards, to ensure accuracy and consistency around the world. As well as showing off the metre, the kilogram and the second, the NPL will have a variety of science laboratories open as well as a programme of short talks and an exhibition to showcase our world-leading science.
Facilities on display include the magnetics laboratory, rotatable hot box, force machines, fuel cells laboratory and medical ultrasound laboratory. Visitors will need to pre-register
