Welcome to our bumper Control 2015 issue of QMT. In this issue, as well as looking at some of the cutting edge new products you can see in Stuttgart we have some great case studies and feature articles for you.
Our cover story takes a look at how a UK subcontractor has speeded inspection times by up to 60 times on components for space missions, a hypersonic plane and a new UK-built wristwatch. We also have the first in a series of articles from NPL that aim to help readers fine tune their day-to-day metrology practices.
No issue would be complete without a couple of cutting edge automotive stories, and we have a couple of crackers this time. First of all we take a look at challenging metrology requirements in the manufacture of advanced Audi engines, and then we home in on a leading Austrian make of engines for Formula One.
We also launch our 2015 Technology Grant competition, organised in conjunction with Olympus.
So I hope you enjoy the issue and come and see us at Control on Stand 7000.
